• Host: This event is hosted by the Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® in collaboration with the Pearl and Ivy Educational Foundation, Inc. (PIEF).
• Honoring: The race honors the 40th anniversary of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® founder Norma E. Boyd’s passing.
• Legacy: Norma E. Boyd, born on August 9, 1888, was a native Washingtonian dedicated to educational and humanitarian pursuits for children throughout her 97 years of life.
• Impact: Since 2013, the Norma E. Boyd 5K Race for Education has raised over $118,000, directly supporting PIEF's mission to provide college scholarships for District of Columbia high school students.

🏛️ About the Organizers

• PIEF: Established in 1988, PIEF is a 501(c)(3) organization providing scholarships to deserving college-bound high school seniors and continuing college students in the District of Columbia.
• Volunteers: Comprised of college-educated, professional women and community volunteers, PIEF serves as the fundraising arm and primary funder for the Xi Omega Chapter's service programs.
• History: Xi Omega Chapter, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.®, is the oldest and largest graduate chapter in Washington, D.C., boasting a rich history of community service and commitment to education.
• Programs: The chapter provides various service programs focusing on educational enrichment, health and wellness, family strengthening, environmental ownership, and global impact.

• Date: Saturday, September 27, 2025.
• Location: At the Health and Wellness Expo from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
• Race Day: Sunday, September 28, 2025, between 6:45 a.m. and 7:45 a.m., prior to the race start.
• Notice: Late arrivals will not be permitted on the course.
