🐾 About CARA

• Mission: Run for Their Lives! is a primary fundraiser supporting Carolina Animal Rescue and Adoption, a no-kill shelter.
• Background: Founded in 2004, CARA has helped find homes for over 400 animals in 2024.
• Funding: CARA relies on fundraising events and donations, as it does not receive public funding.
• Growth: With dedicated volunteers, CARA continues to rescue and care for stray and abandoned pets.

🌳 Race Details

• Course Options: Participants can run either a 5k or 10k course through Historic Sanford.
• Challenge: Participants can opt to run both the 5k and 10k for a special medal.
• Virtual Option: Participants can run the course at their convenience or find their own 5k/10k route.
• Pet Policy: Leashed dogs and strollers are welcome!

👟 Participation Guidelines

• Walking: Walking the 5k is allowed: brisk walking or walk/running for the 10k is encouraged.
• Pace: An overall pace of 14 minutes per mile is acceptable.
• SLEEP Option: Support the cause by registering for the SLEEP option to receive a t-shirt without running.
• T-shirt Option: Registration for the 5k or 10k includes an option to add a t-shirt for an additional $5.

📅 Race Day Information

• 5k Start Time: 7:30 AM
• 10k Start Time: 8:15 AM
• Registration: New registrations and BIB pick-up start at 6:30 AM on race day.
• T-shirt Size Deadline: Register by August 10th to guarantee your t-shirt size!
