🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

WICC and The Surfside Hotel invite you to the kick off the “Greatest Bluefish Tournament on Earth” with a 5K race or walk raising money for MAKE-A-WISH CONNECTICUT.

The WICC & Surfside Hotel BLUES ARE RUNNING 5K - YEAR TWO! is hosted by WICC, The Surfside Hotel & Little Pub in the Lordship section of Stratford. The Surfside Hotel & Little Pub overlooks Long Island Sound as does most of the course!

Join us Sunday, August 10th for a great morning of fun, food & froth, followed by more fun at the Little Pub.

📍 Race Details

Run or walk our beautiful 5K (3.11mi) course overlooking Long Island Sound.

• Registration Limit: this event will have a strict cutoff at 250 people.
• Event Timing: August 10th at 10 Washington Parkway, Stratford, CT.
• Post-Race Food: Participants enjoy snacks & adult beverages (21+ only) with N/A options available too.
• T-Shirts: Size guaranteed classic t-shirts by 7/31 (after which sizes are 'as available').

🏆 Awards

The TOP 3 Male & Female Finishers overall will receive prizes.

• Age Groups: FIRST Place Age group awards for multiple categories including 9 & under, 10-13, 14-18, and beyond.
• Additional Prizes: Second and third place awards may be added – watch for updates.

🎟️ Raffle

Every participant will be automatically entered into the raffle as part of their race fees.

• Additional Tickets: Additional raffle tickets may be sold to raise funds for MAKE-A-WISH CONNECTICUT.
• Prizes: Surfside will provide a hotel stay as the grand prize, and Little Pub will offer tickets to a Wednesday night Clambake as the second prize.

🍔 Post Race Food and Beverage

As part of the entrant’s race fees, Little Pub will offer each 21 & older participant an adult beverage along with non-alcoholic options. We will also have snacks, chips & more.

NEW ADDITION! The Lordship lobster truck will be open for pre/post 5K sales of various food items, including lobster rolls, hot dogs, and more!

🕒 Event Timeline

• 6/7: Registration Opens $30 till 8/3 ($25 for 20 & under).
• 7/31: Guaranteed shirt size ends – we may not have many extra so REGISTER IN TIME!
• 8/4: Registration fee increases to $40 through 8/10 ($30 for 20 & under).
• 8/9: Early bib/shirt pickup at Little Pub picnic lot 8:30-10am.
• 8/10: Event pickup starts at the Little Pub picnic lot (across from the Little Pub and SURFSIDE Hotel).
