🐾 About the Dawg Dash
- Event Type: Compete in a 5k with your best furry friend.
- Host: Shreve Island Elementary PTA is excited to announce its first Dawg Dash.
- Activities: Join us for racing, pet education, and an adoption opportunity.
- Vendors: Enjoy food and coffee vendors available early in the morning.
🏃♂️ Race Categories
- BullDog/BullDog & Furry Friend: 5K is a 3.1 mile run through Shreve Island neighborhood.
- Course Features: Flat wide streets, hydration stations, and timed event with medals for top finishers.
- Participation: Strollers are welcome but must start behind the runners and be used at a walking pace.
- Included: Race packet, t-shirt, and doggie bandana (if applicable).
🐕 Little Pup Fun Run
- Distance: 1 mile Fun Run begins at 8 am and is open to ALL runners.
- Timing: This is an untimed event, meant for comfort and ability levels.
- Awards: No awards will be given for the Fun Run: strollers are allowed.
- Extras: Includes a t-shirt: doggie bandanas available for purchase.
😴 Let Sleeping Dogs Lie
- Participation: Support this fundraiser while you sleep in your race t-shirt!
- Gratitude: We appreciate your donation to our cause.
🍽️ Post Race Activities
- Breakfast: Enjoy a light breakfast after the race.
- Activities: Kids’ activities and pet education will be available.
- Community: Engage with community partners and other Shreve Island families.
🐶 Pet Attendance Stipulations
- Behavior: Only bring well-behaved pets around other animals and people.
- Leash Policy: All animals must remain on a leash (maximum 6 feet), no retractable leashes.
- Vaccination: Proof of rabies vaccination is required: current rabies tag is sufficient.
- Clean Up: Please remove any waste made by your pet.
📅 Packet Pick Up
- Location: Will be held at Run Wild, 9462 Ellerbe Rd, (Next to Kroger).
- Date: Thursday, Feb 29th from 11:00 am - 6:00 pm.
- Additional: Friday, March 1st from 10:00 am - 5:30 pm.
- Race Day: Packet pick up starts at 7:30 am at the race site.
