2026 Lake Chabot Trail Challenge (Half Marathon & 5K)

Race Info

• Event: We are so excited to celebrate the 42nd annual Lake Chabot Trail Challenge Half Marathon and 5K.
• Schedule: The race begins at 8am for the Half Marathon and 8:30am for the 5K.
• Preparation: Please arrive early for parking, bib pick-up, and restroom facilities.
• Weather Policy: Race takes place rain or shine and there are no refunds.

Race Course

• Half Marathon: A scenic, hilly loop, mainly on dirt fire roads.
• Views: Ridge-line views of Lake Chabot, grassy slopes, and eucalyptus groves.
• Water Stations: Available with first aid and radio support: recommending personal hydration.
• 5K Course: An out and back route with gentle rolling hills, primarily on paved surfaces.

Race Fee

• Pre-registration: Guaranteed t-shirt for those registered by Sunday, May 10th, 2026.
• Cost: 5K is $40 and Half Marathon $65 if registered by Saturday, June 6th.
• Race Day Registration: Prices increase to $45 for the 5K and $70 for the Half Marathon.
• Payment: Cash, check or Venmo only on race day.

Parking

• Fee: There is a nominal fee (~$5) for Chabot parking lot.
• Free Parking: Available on Lake Chabot Rd and nearby streets.

Race Packet & Bib Pick-Up

• When: Sunday, June 7th starting at 7am at the Willow picnic site.
• Location: Finish line area: race packets will not be mailed out.
• Timing: Both races are chip-timed.

T-Shirt

• Inclusions: Entry fee includes short sleeve, high quality t-shirts for registrations by May 10th.
• Availability: No guarantee of t-shirts for late registrants or race day sign-ups.
• Size Selection: Ensure you select the appropriate t-shirt size: no exchanges will occur.

Awards

• Finisher's Medals: Awarded to those who complete their race.
• Age Division Medals: Given to top 3 in each of 12 age divisions for the half marathon and 9 for the 5K.

Photos

• Provider: Race photos by Darrell Lavin of Darrell Lavin Photography.
• Access: You will receive an email post-race with instructions to access and purchase photos.
