Run for Raptors Trail Race

• 11K Run: 7:30 AM start time | ROUTE: Strava Route
• 5K Walk/Run: 8 AM start time | ROUTE: Strava Route

• Packet Pickup: Early pickup at Lakeside Nature Center, Friday, 8/1 from 10 AM – 4 PM.

📍 Location

• Race Start: At Lake Lodge at Camp Lake of the Woods in Swope Park.
• Directions: Entrance located off Oldham Rd just SE of Hillcrest Rd.
• Navigation: Signs will assist you in reaching the venue: a map will also be available at packet pickup.
• Important: The race does not take place at Lakeside Nature Center.

🅿️ Parking

• Attendants: Parking attendants available starting at 6:30 AM.
• Carpool: Limited parking available: carpooling encouraged.
• Additional Parking: Lakeside Nature Center's parking lot is also an option.

🦉 Raptors

• Education: Lakeside Staff and Volunteers will feature educational raptors.
• Engagement: Pictures and questions are encouraged!

🎟️ Raffle

• Start Time: Raffle around 8:45 AM.
• Tickets: Each racer receives 1 ticket: additional tickets available for purchase.
• Pricing: Additional tickets are $2: $10 minimum for credit card purchases.

💧 Hydrating

• Preparation: Drink plenty of fluids in the days leading up to the race.
• Water Stations: A station at the halfway point of both races and one at the finish.
• Recommendation: 10K participants should bring their own hydration unit.

⏰ Late Starts

• Policy: No late starts permitted for any race distances.

🎒 Bag Drop

• Availability: A secured area behind packet pickup for personal items.

🚻 Bathrooms

• Location: Bathrooms available at the Lake Lodge.

🏞️ Trail Tips

• Watch Your Footing: Be cautious of obstacles: twisted ankles are common.
• Rocky Terrain: The 10K has more rocky stretches than the 5K.
• Wildlife: Keep an eye out for various critters along the way.

🔊 Trail Etiquette

• Communication: Yell "ON YOUR LEFT" when passing.
• Consideration: Slower runners should step off to the right to allow passing.
• Earbuds: Not recommended: if used, wear only one bud to maintain awareness.

• Scheduled: The rain date for 2025 is Saturday, August 9.
• Updates: Check your email, Facebook, and the Registration Page for any cancellations.

📆 Registration

• Early Bird Pricing: Available between 1/1/25 and 4/30/25.
• Price Increases: Prices rise on 5/1/25, 7/1/25, and 8/1/25.
• Day-of Registration: Possible if capacity allows.

🏆 Awards

• Winners: First place male and female runners in each distance (excluding walkers) receive free entry next year!

🐾 Dogs

• Policy: Dogs are not allowed to participate in the race due to heat and live birds.
• Cheering Allowed: Dogs may come and cheer from the sidelines if leashed.
