Dance Away 5K & 1 Mile

• Date: Saturday, September 13, 2025
• Location: Veterans Park in Historic Downtown
• Address: 222 Berard Street, Breaux Bridge, LA
• Beneficiary: The race will benefit the Teche Center for the Arts

Race Overview

• Distance: A 5K walk/run through downtown historic Breaux Bridge, LA.
• Bonus: All participants will receive a free entry and a free Bloody Mary after the race at the world famous Zydeco Breakfast at Buck and Johnny's. Participants must show race bib for free entry to the breakfast.
• Fun Run: There will be a 1 Mile Fun Run.
• Virtual Race: This year we are offering a Virtual Race option for those of you who want to support our race but may not want to run or want to run it on your own time and pace.

Special Awards

• Most Spirited: This year we will have a Most Spirited award for the best costume showing your Spirit.
• First Responders: We will honor our First Responders with their own 5K category and awards.

Team Registration

• Team Registration: We will be offering Team Registration.
• Prizes: The team with the most registered members will win a prize.
• Discount: Get a $5 discount off all of your team's registrations.
• Participation: Team registration is for doing the 1 Mile or the 5K.

Registration Fees

• 5K or 1 Mile: $30 fee includes a t-shirt, a Bloody Mary and entry to the Zydeco Breakfast.
• Team Registration (1M or 5K): $25 fee includes a t-shirt, a Bloody Mary and entry to the Zydeco Breakfast.
• 5K &: 1 Mile Virtual Race: $30 fee includes a t-shirt, a Bloody Mary and entry to the Zydeco Breakfast.

Packet Pickup

• Date: Friday, 9/12/25 from 12 pm - 7 pm
• Location: Buck and Johnny's in the Glassroom, 100 Berard Street, Breaux, Bridge, LA
• Race Morning: Saturday, 9/13/25 from 6 am - 7 am in the Park

Age Groups

• Categories: 1-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+

Awards

• 5K: 1st, 2nd, 3rd Overall Male &: Female, along with 1st, 2nd, 3rd in the age groups.
• 5K First Responders: 1st, 2nd, 3rd Overall Winners.
• Team Award: 5K Team with the most registered members gets an award.
• 1 Mile: 1st, 2nd, 3rd Overall Winners.
