Course Details
- Distance: 10K and 5K courses
- Scenic Route: Journey through the prettiest farmland in Frederick County
- Catoctin Creek: Run alongside beautiful Catoctin Creek on a gravel road
- Historic Bridges: Cross two one-lane wooden deck bridges spanning Catoctin Creek
Packet Pickup
- Location: Charm City Run, Frederick
- Date: Wednesday, April 15, 2026
- Time: 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.
- Note: Bib Pickup closes at 8:20 a.m. sharp on race day
Race Day Schedule
- 0700 - 0820: Bib Pickup
- 0830: 10K Start
- 0835: 5K Start
- 1030: Course closes for both events
Race Day Information
- Registration: On-site must be done via personal smartphone, no cash/checks
- Strollers: Allowed
- Headphones: Strongly discouraged due to open roads
- Arrival: Plan accordingly: no late starts
Race Options
- 5K Course: Half the distance and elevation change of the 10K
- Paved Surfaces: 5K is all on paved surfaces
- Bridge Crossings: Cross one wooden deck bridge twice
- Vistas: Offers amazingly sweeping vistas
Registration and Awards
- Shirts: Included for registrations before March 22, 2026
- Overall Awards: Top 3 male and female finishers receive custom awards
- Age Group Awards: Top 3 in each 5-year age group take home a custom glass
- Special Award: John Godinet Memorial Mid-Pack Maven Award for the 10K participant finishing in the middle
Refund Policy
You will be given the opportunity to purchase event insurance during registration from a third-party provider. Makin' Hay registrants will be able to initiate a partial refund via their RunSignup profile up until 30 days prior to the event. After that, no individual refunds or transfers.
