Thank you for registering for the 3rd Annual Daily News Press Run on Saturday, May 31, 2025. We are excited to offer you and your family a fantastic day full of activities! Whether you prefer running, walking, or jogging, the Press Run features certified 5K and 10K courses in Texas City, along with exciting activities for everyone. Kids can participate in a 1K race, and there will be a contest for the best book character costume. You can also explore dozens of vendor booths, enjoy live music, and savor delicious food. This event promises to be an unforgettable experience, and we can't wait to see you there!

📚 Supporting Education
The Daily News Press Runs provides support to the Newspapers in Education (NIE) program. NIE provides educational resources that use the newspaper to develop reading comprehension skills, critical thinking, and a better understanding of the way the world relates to the classroom. There is a waiting list of teachers each year who want to join. We need your help to make the program a success for the upcoming school year.
🎒 Bag Drop Off
Bag drop is available at the info station for a $5 donation to the Newspapers In Education program.
🎭 Costume Contest
Dress up as your favorite book character as we celebrate Literacy Day with our Smart Family Literacy, Inc. Partners. The first, second, and third-place winners will win a special prize donated by local merchants. The contest is divided into two groups: children and adults. A panel will judge the costumes.
