Event History
- Established: The Trumbull Sunset Run has an amazing history since its start in the 80’s.
- Oldest Run: The Trumbull Rotary is preparing to host one of the oldest runs in the area.
- Community Cooperation: We appreciate the support from the Trumbull Parks and Rec Department and the Town of Trumbull.
- Memorable Experiences: Join us for this great, family event.
Veteran Participation
- Cost: All veterans & current members of the US military can run for free.
- ID Requirement: ID required at bib pickup time!
Course Information
- Map: 5K Course Map (accurate 3.11 miles).
- Course Details: The course has rolling hills in the first half: the second half is net downhill.
- Water Stop: There is a water stop at 1.7 miles.
- New Walk Course: Our new sunset walk course will be available soon (1-1.5 easy miles).
Event Calendar
- May 19: Registration opens - 5k at $35 for 19 & over, $30 for 18 & under.
- New Untimed Walk: $30 for all ages, does not increase.
- July 1: 5K registration fees increase for 19 & over only ($37.00).
- July 19: Guaranteed shirt sizing ends: only available while supplies last.
Race Day Details
- July 31: Event evening pickup at 5:00 PM at the park.
- Kids Run: Free kids run at 6:15 PM, directed by Donna Cramond.
- 5K Start Time: 6:30 PM, followed by snacks & awards.
- Registration: No paper/cash registration on race day: online only if not sold out.
Prizes & Awards
- Awards: Men’s & Women’s Champion trophies or awards.
- Top Finishers: Awards for top 3 in age groups ranging from 9 & under to 70+.
Race Management
- Course Logistics: Managed by Marty Schaivone, MS Running Productions.
- Timing: Computer bib-chip timing by Startline Race Services.
- T-Shirts: Registrants will receive a T-shirt (size guaranteed when signed up by July 19).
- Post-Deadline: Any sign-ups after that will receive a shirt if available.

- Fundraising: This event supports local organizations and events.
- Programs Supported: Includes the annual dictionary project, senior citizens' initiatives, and scholarships.
