Davis Stampede

Event Overview

The Davis Stampede takes place each year in February, and includes 5K, 10K and Half Marathon routes. We also offer a family friendly 2K (1.24 mile) fun run/walk division that is perfect for younger athletes, families, and walkers. Starting and finishing at Davis’ Playfields Park, the Davis Stampede is a great way to kick off 2026 with a commitment to fitness. Courses are mostly flat and take runners and walkers through east and south Davis’s greenbelts and neighborhood streets. Race amenities include:

• Finisher’s Medals: Medals awarded to all finishers.
• Half Marathon Pace Groups: Support for runners.
• T-shirts: Provided to all participants.
• Post-Race Expo: Experience after the race.

Registration Details

Registration for the 43rd Davis Stampede opened on October 1, 2025.

• Early Registration: Please register early!
• Half Marathon: Often sells out or comes close to it.

9:00 a.m. - 2K

Entry Includes

Blend performance short sleeved t-shirt, finisher medal, chip timing, eligibility for division awards.

• T-shirt Upgrade: Long sleeve technical (100% polyester) shirt for $8.
• Opt Out: You may opt out of the short sleeve t-shirt and save $5.

Packet Pick Up

You can pick up your packet (bib and shirt) on Saturday, February 21 from 1pm to 4pm at Playfields Park (race venue).

• Friends Pickup: You may pick up for friends, and ID is not required.
• Race Day Pickup: Available starting at 6:30 a.m.
• QR Code: Encourage to have QR code from confirmation email.
• Race Bib Visibility: Pin your race bib to the front of your clothing.

Awards

Overall awards will be presented to the top male, female and nonbinary finishers based on gun time.

• Age Group Awards: Top three male, female, and nonbinary registrants per age group.
• Declining Gender/Age: Registrants may decline to state their gender and/or age, however, they will not be eligible for awards.
• Award Pickup: Available on race day: unclaimed awards are not mailed.

Virtual Participation

Those who are unable to attend on event day or who would prefer to participate on their own schedule may register as a virtual participant.

• Virtual Packets: Mailed on or about 2/25/26.
• Switch Requests: Last day to request a switch from in-person to virtual is February 21 at 11:59 pm.
• Results Submission: Times may be submitted from February 21 through March 22.
• No Awards: There are no age group or overall awards for the virtual divisions.

Half Marathon Details

Half Marathon course cut-off time is 3.5 hours or 11:30 a.m.

• Minimum Age: To participate is 15: consideration for youth 14 and under on a case by case basis.
• Fluid Stations: Located approximately every two miles.

Strollers, Wagons, and Wheels

Wheelchair entrants may participate in all divisions.

• Racing Wheelchairs: Should start at the front.
• Pushed Wheelchairs: Should start towards the back.
• Strollers in 5K/10K: Must start towards the back.
• 2K Rules: Strollers and wagons permitted: wagons must have seatbelts.

Timing Information

Because this event utilizes chip timing for all events:

• Start Line: Your time will not start until you cross the mats.
• Results Placements: Determined by chip/net time.

Guides/Support Runners for Adaptive Entrants

If you are a sighted guide for a visually impaired participant:

• Registration: Must register for the event.
• Support Runner Eligibility: Not eligible for age group awards.
• Clothing: Suggested that support runners wear high visibility clothing.

Volunteers

Volunteers are needed to help with a variety of tasks on race day.

• Signup: Sign up on the volunteer tab.
• Group Sign-ups: Available for interested volunteers.

Refund Policy & Race Rules

Entries are non-refundable and non-transferable: the event happens rain or shine.

• Registered Distance: Must be registered for the distance you intend to participate.
• Event Changes: May be postponed, delayed, or canceled if unforeseen conditions occur.
• Refund Notes: Refunds will NOT be offered if the event is altered in any way.
