Purpose: The Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers.
Honor: Honor all of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty.

HOW FAR IS A TUNNEL TO TOWERS 5K RUN & WALK?
Distance: This family event is a 5K (3.1 miles).
Course: It is 2 laps of a marked course within the park that you are welcome to walk or run.
WHEN/WHERE CAN I PICK UP MY PACKET?
Location: Packets can be picked up at Fleet Feet Sacramento, 2311 J Street, Sacramento, CA 95816.
Date: Thursday, October 30th, 2025, from 11am-6pm.
Race Day: Packets will also be available the day of the event at the park starting at 8am.
Important: Packets WILL NOT be mailed if not picked up.
CAN I REGISTER THE DAY OF THE RUN?
Same Day Registration: Yes, same day registration will be available.
T-shirt Availability: T-shirts cannot be guaranteed without advanced registration.
Price Increase: The registration price will increase for those who wait to register.
WHEN DOES THE ONLINE REGISTRATION CLOSE?
Online Registration: Online registration will remain open until the event starts.
Price Increases: Price increases on day of event.
WHERE IS THE STARTING LINE LOCATED IN THE PARK?
Location: Our start/finish line and Vendor Village will be located near Freeport Blvd and 14th Avenue.
IS THIS A TIMED EVENT?
Timing Services: Yes, Capital Road Race Management will be assisting with their timing services.
IS THERE TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM THE EVENT?
Transportation: No, we do not provide transportation to and from the event.
IS THERE PARKING AVAILABLE?
Parking Availability: Yes, there are parking spots located along the perimeter of the park as well as several parking lots within walking distance.
No Parking: No parking will be available within the park.
DO I HAVE TO WEAR MY BIB?
Bib Requirement: Yes, please display your bib on the front of your outermost garment.
Consequences: Those who run without a bib will be asked to leave the course and will not be allowed to finish.
I AM A FAST RUNNER. CAN I GET A FRONTLINE POSITION?
Frontline Seeding: Runners predicting a pace faster than 6 minute/mile will be seeded in the front.
Arrival: Arrive early.
WILL WATER BE AVAILABLE?
Water Stations: Yes, a water station will be available along the route.
Additional Water: There will be water available at the park.
WHAT CAN I BRING TO THE EVENT?
Permitted Items: Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted.
Firefighter Gear: Firefighter turnout gear and military backpacks are also permitted.
Valuables: Please leave all personal items and valuables in your vehicle.
Responsibility: All items should be stored securely at the owner's risk.
IF I HAVE A BACKPACK, WHAT DO I DO WITH IT?
Storage: Please leave all personal items and valuables in your vehicle.
Responsibility: The Tunnel to Towers Foundation will not be responsible for the loss of any items.
CAN SOMEONE ELSE PICK UP MY PACKET FOR ME?
Packet Pickup: Yes, they can. They must present a copy of your registration receipt.

CAN I STILL DONATE TO A TEAM AND/OR INDIVIDUAL AFTER THE START OF THE RACE?
Donation Timeline: Yes. Donations will be accepted for 6 weeks after the event.

Refund Policy: We do not provide refunds for the event if you are not able to attend or if the Foundation needs to cancel the event.
