Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk - Sacramento, CA

🏃‍♂️ WHAT IS A TUNNEL TO TOWERS 5K RUN & WALK?

• Purpose: The Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers.
• Honor: Honor all of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty.

📏 HOW FAR IS A TUNNEL TO TOWERS 5K RUN & WALK?

• Distance: This family event is a 5K (3.1 miles).
• Format: It is 2 laps of a marked course within the park that you are welcome to walk or run.

📦 WHEN/WHERE CAN I PICK UP MY PACKET?

• Pre-Race Pickup: Packets can be picked up prior to the race day at Fleet Feet Sacramento, 2311 J Street, Sacramento, CA 95816.
• Date: Packet pickup will take place on Thursday, October 30th, 2025, (11am-6pm).
• Race Day: Packets will also be available the day of the event at the park starting at 8am.
• Note: Packets WILL NOT be mailed if not picked up.

📝 CAN I REGISTER THE DAY OF THE RUN?

• Same-Day Registration: Yes, same day registration will be available.
• T-Shirts: T-shirts cannot be guaranteed without advanced registration.
• Price Increase: The registration price will increase for those who wait to register.

⏰ WHEN DOES THE ONLINE REGISTRATION CLOSE?

• Registration: Online registration will remain open until the event starts.
• Price Increase: Price increases on the day of the event.

📍 WHERE IS THE STARTING LINE LOCATED IN THE PARK?

• Location: Our start/finish line and Vendor Village will be located near Freeport Blvd and 14th Avenue.

⏱️ IS THIS A TIMED EVENT?

• Timing Services: Yes, Capital Road Race Management will be assisting with their timing services.

🚫 IS THERE TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM THE EVENT?

• Transportation: No, we do not provide transportation to and from the event.

🅿️ IS THERE PARKING AVAILABLE?

• Parking Options: Yes, there are parking spots located along the perimeter of the park as well as several parking lots within walking distance.
• No Parking: No parking will be available within the park.

🎟️ DO I HAVE TO WEAR MY BIB?

• Display Bib: Yes, please display your bib on the front of your outermost garment.
• Course Rules: Those who run without a bib will be asked to leave the course and will not be allowed to finish.

🏁 I AM A FAST RUNNER. CAN I GET A FRONTLINE POSITION?

• Seeding: Runners predicting a pace faster than 6 minute/mile will be seeded in the front. (Arrive early).

💧 WILL WATER BE AVAILABLE?

• Water Stations: Yes, a water station will be available along the route and there will be water available at the park.

🏃‍♀️ WHAT CAN I BRING TO THE EVENT?

• Permitted Items: Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted. Firefighter turnout gear and military backpacks are also permitted.
• Personal Items: Please leave all personal items and valuables in your vehicle.
• Responsibility: All items should be stored securely at the owner's risk. The Tunnel to Towers Foundation will not be responsible for the loss of any items.

🎒 IF I HAVE A BACKPACK, WHAT DO I DO WITH IT?

• Storage: Please leave all personal items and valuables in your vehicle.

👤 CAN SOMEONE ELSE PICK UP MY PACKET FOR ME?

• Packet Pickup: Yes, they can. They must present a copy of your registration receipt.
• Kind Gesture: And don't forget to thank them!

💵 CAN I STILL DONATE TO A TEAM AND/OR INDIVIDUAL AFTER THE START OF THE RACE?

• Donation Period: Yes. Donations will be accepted for 6 weeks after the event.

🏢 HOW CAN MY COMPANY/ORGANIZATION SPONSOR THIS EVENT?

• Response Time: Someone will be in touch with you within 24 hours.
