• Event: 12th Annual Race for the Summitt 5K

• Organizers: Current pharmacy students at UT College of Pharmacy

Purpose of the Event

• Beneficiary: The Pat Summitt Foundation
• Support: Proceeds from the race are given to the foundation for research and awareness of Alzheimer’s disease
• Legacy: The race honors Pat Summitt, former head coach of the Lady Vols
• Memory Donors: Participants are encouraged to ask friends and family to become Memory Donors

About Pat Summitt

• Career: Head coach for the Lady Vols from 1974-2012
• Awards: Over 1,000 career wins and never had a losing season
• Diagnosis: Diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2011
• Passing: Lost her battle with the disease in 2016
