Earth Day 5K Family Fun Run/Walk

Join us for the Earth Day 5K Family Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, April 25, 2026, benefitting the La Porte City Park Foundation! This race is an official 2026 Calumet Region Striders Gold Cup Series event. The course will be a beautiful loop around Clear Lake with an out-and-back section on the Chessie Trail.

Event Purpose

Celebrate Earth Day and support your local parks by participating in this eco-friendly event. All proceeds from the race will go toward park improvements and environmental initiatives in our community. Whether you're a seasoned runner earning Gold Cup Series points or just looking for a fun outdoor activity with family and friends, this event is for you!

Earth-Friendly Shirt Option

Race shirts are optional to help reduce waste. A race shirt costs approximately $10 to produce. If you choose “No Shirt,” we won’t order a shirt for you, and that $10 stays with the La Porte City Park Foundation to support local parks and environmental initiatives.

Choose a shirt if you’ll truly wear it — choose No Shirt to make the biggest Earth Day impact.

• Race Week Registration (April 19 – April 25): $35 (ages 9+), $5 (ages 0-8) (No guaranteed shirt or medal.)

Location: Park Office, 250 Pine Lake Avenue

Race Day Packet Pickup

Date: Saturday, April 25, 2026
Time: Beginning at 7:30 AM
Location: Event Site (Dennis F. Smith Amphitheater area)

At packet pickup, you will be assigned a bib number. Friends or family members may pick up packets on your behalf. T-shirts are guaranteed for participants who registered by 4/9/2026.

Race Day Information

We recommend arriving early on race day to allow time for parking and packet pickup before the race begins. Truesdell Avenue and Taylor Drive will be closed for the race starting at 8:30 AM. Additional parking is available in the lot off McClung Road, located on the hill behind the amphitheater.
