26th Annual McElveen Race For The ARK

🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

Registration OPENS on May 1, 2025 for the 26th Annual McElveen Race for The ARK. The race is set for Saturday, August 23 in Downtown Summerville. The ARK provides comprehensive support services to families living with Alzheimer’s or related dementia.

📍 Race Details

• Events: This race includes a 5K run/walk and 1-mile fun run – both races begin and end at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 206 Central Avenue in Summerville.
• Course: The USATF-certified course winds through historic downtown Summerville.
• Start Times: The 5K begins at 7:45 a.m. and the 1-mile fun run kicks off at 8:45 a.m.

🏆 Awards and Prizes

• Overall Winners: Awards will be given to the top three overall male and female winners.
• Age Groups: Awards will also be distributed in several age groups.
• Course Records: Plus, $100 will be awarded to the first male and female to break the course records (15:40 male and 17:51 female).

💰 Registration Fees

• Pricing: Through Aug. 21, registration is $35 with T-shirt for the 5K run/walk and $25 for without T-shirt and $10 for the 1-mile fun run or $30 for a family of four (without T-shirts).
• On-site Registration: Registration and packet pickup will be from noon to 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 22 at The ARK House and from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. on-site race day.
• Day of Race Fees: During packet pickup and on race day, registration for the 5K is $40. For the 1-mile fun run, it’s $15 or $35 for a family of four (without T-shirts).

🤝 Corporate Challenge

• Team Size: Businesses can create teams of five or more as part of the Corporate Challenge.
• Awards: The winning team (combined best times) receives a hand-crafted traveling trophy to display at its business or organization for one year.
• Registration Cost: Cost is $500.

• Online Registration: Be sure to have ALL your participants' information handy!

⚙️ Corporate Requirements

• Entry Fee: $500 per team (contact The ARK for promo code).
• Logo Submission: Your corporate logo must be submitted electronically (jpg or pdf) at the time of your entry, black and white logos only.
• Inclusions: Your company/organization will receive 5 entries in the 5K Run and logo will appear on the back of the official race T-shirt.
• Promotional Opportunities: Opportunity to provide promotional items in runners’ bags. Items due by August 15th.
