Purpose: The Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers.
Honor: Honor all of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty!

How far is a Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk?
Distance: This is a 5K (3.1 miles) event to walk or run.
Participation: Anyone can run, walk, or experience this event.
Markers: There will be markers for the .5 mile, 1 mile, and 2 mile.
Packet Pickup Information
Location: University of Alabama in Huntsville Police Department (Front Lobby).
Address: 501 John Wright Drive, Huntsville, AL 35899.
Dates: November 13 & 14, 2025 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM both days.
Registration Details
Same-Day Registration: Yes, registration will open at 7 AM the morning of the run.
Online Registration Deadline: Online registration will remain open until October 18th, 2025 at 7:45 AM.
Important Note: If you wait to register until the day of the run, we may not have a shirt for you.
Timed Run: Your run/walk will not be timed for late registrants.
Race Guidelines
Bib Number: Yes, please display your bib on the front of your outermost garment.
Front-line Position: Runners predicting a pace faster than 6 minute/mile will be seeded in the front corral.
Awards: Medals for the top 3 male and female finishers and the top Firefighter, police officer, and military personnel running in uniform.
Event Logistics
Water Availability: Yes, a water station will be available along the route and at the start/finish line.
Permitted Items: Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted: current APOSTC police officers in full department uniform can run with their department issued pistol.
Prohibited Items: Please do not bring roller blades, skateboards, or dogs unless it is a certified service dog with proper paperwork.
Donations and Fundraising
Fundraising: Yes! Once you are registered, you will be given directions to start your own fundraising page and accept donations online.

Donation Deadline: Donations will be accepted for 6 weeks after the event.

Refund Policy
Refunds: We do not provide refunds for the event.
Registration Transfers: Yes, registration can be transferred to another participant.
Medical Support
On-Site Medical: Yes, there will be an Emergency Medical Service team available on site.
Communication: There is radio communication available on the course to help communicate with the EMS.
