Event Overview
The Shore Athletic Club presents the Asbury Park George Sheehan Classic 5K on Saturday, August 8, 2026.
Flat, fast USATF certified course finishing on the famous Asbury Park Boardwalk
Time: 7:50 AM Opening Ceremony at Bradley Park
Registration Fees
- Early Registration: $36 if you register by March 9th
- Standard Registration: $40 if you register by May 9th
- Late Registration: $46 if you register by July 31st (if space permits)
- Race Week Registration: $50 to register on August 1-8th and $60 on race day (if space permits)
The field will be capped at 1,600 runners this year. Shirts for the first 1,200 to pick up. Register early to avoid getting closed out.
Kids Races
- Registration Fee: $14 if you register by March 9th
- Standard Fee: $16 if you register by July 31st
- Late Registration: $20 to register on August 1-9th
- Suggested Distances: Varies by age groups
Kids can run more or less than suggested.
Schedule of Events
- Friday: 4-7 PM - Late Registration & Bib/T-Shirt Pick-up at The Outpost in Little Silver.
- Saturday: 6:30 to 7:45 AM - Late Registration and race day bib pick-up at Bradley Park.
- Opening Ceremony: 7:50 AM at Bradley Park.
- 5K Run Start: 8:00 AM.
Awards
- Cash Prizes: Top 5 Overall Open Male and Female.
- Age Group Awards: 5 year age groups - Top 3 in each age group win custom Sheehan Classic beach towels and other awards.
- Total Prize Money: Over $1,300 for top finishers.
- Team Competition: Special award for Winning Team(s) in various categories.
Bib Pick-Up
Friday Bib Pick Up: The Outpost Running and Walking Co., located at 32 Church Street in Little Silver from 4:00 - 7:00 PM. Free shoe raffle and other giveaways available!
Race Tees
Soft cotton tie-dye Asbury Park Sheehan Classic shirts to the first 1,200 participants to pick up their bib/shirt.
Drink Ticket: First 1,000 people to pick up their bibs on Friday and Saturday will receive a drink ticket for The Robinson Ale House.
Charity Partner
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Boys and Girls Club of Monmouth County.
