Starting at 8 a.m., this 13.1-mile race takes you through some of the most stunning parks in the region—where every step is a celebration of life and tradition.

Starting Point: The race begins in a beautifully adorned park with crisp morning air and the scent of marigolds.
Course Beauty: The course weaves through lush landscapes, sparkling lakes, and towering trees.
Aid Stations: Hydration stations along the route to keep you fueled and motivated.
Finish Festivities: Cheering crowds will be there to celebrate your accomplishment as you approach the finish line.

🎉 Post-Race Celebration:

Crossing the finish line, you’ll be welcomed into a lively post-race celebration at the rally tent. Live music fills the air, and an array of delicious Mexican treats and refreshing drinks awaits you. Celebrate your success with fellow runners, share stories, and soak in the festive atmosphere.

👗 Costume Contest:

At the heart of the “Day of the Dead Half Marathon: Parks Edition” is an exciting costume contest that invites runners to fully embrace the spirit of Día de los Muertos.

Participant Showcase: Before the race, participants gather at the starting area, showcasing their most creative and vibrant costumes.
Judging Criteria: A panel of judges evaluates the costumes based on creativity, authenticity, and overall impact.
Award: The winner receives the coveted “Day of the Dead Best Costume Award” and a special prize package.
Extra Fun: This pre-race contest adds excitement, encouraging participants to celebrate in true Day of the Dead fashion.

Youth-based pricing for the 5k & Quarter Marathon 12 & Under are only $15!

Referral Bonus: Participants will receive a $20 refund if they refer 5 others.

📏 Race Distances:

Kids Dash: About a 20 yard dash for kids 10 and under with a tee shirt and medal.
1 Mile: Designed for all ages and experience levels, includes a tee shirt and medal.
5K: Chip timed, 1st overall trophies, and age group awards.
1/4 Marathon: Chip timed, featuring 1st overall Bigfoot trophies and age group awards.
Half Marathon: Chip timed, featuring 1st overall Bigfoot trophies and age group awards.

🏆 Awards Breakdown:

Standard Age Group Awards for 5K, Quarter Marathon and Half Marathon include:

1st Overall: Trophy for Male/Female.
Masters Awards: Special recognition award lanyard pin for M/F age 40+.
Age Group Awards: Gold, Silver, and Bronze award pins for various age categories.

📅 Event Schedule:

6:30-7:45am: Packet Pickup
7:55am: Kids Dash
8:00am: National Anthem and Race Start!

🤝 Volunteer Opportunities:

If you wish to participate and volunteer, you can earn a custom chip timed bib, tee, and finisher medal. Help with packet pickup, then run the race before assisting with awards.

Full Race Volunteer: Help manage the course, provide aid, and have fun while cheering on runners!

Bigfoot races proceed rain, shine, hot or cold.

👟 Packet Pickup:

Packet pickup is always offered for 1.5 hours before the event start time. Additionally, if extra pickups are scheduled, participants will be notified via email.
