Race the Sunset 5k

Event Overview

This is event #9 in the Race the Region Racing Series.

Join us for a new challenge this September. In addition to competing for overall and age group awards, participants will be racing to beat the sunset. All finishers will receive a finisher medal, but those finishing before the sun sets will receive a special finisher medal to commemorate the achievement.

Schedule

• 5K Run Starts: 6:20PM
• Awards: 7:20PM
• Online Registration: Open until 6:10 PM on race day
• Pre-Race Packet Pick Up: September 18th (10AM - 6PM), September 19th (10AM - 5PM), September 20th (Noon - 3PM)

Packet Pickup

• Location: Extra Mile Fitness Company, 3400 Calumet Ave., Valparaiso, Indiana 46383
• Onsite Pickup: Available on race day beginning at 5PM
• Park Entry: Fee applicable: show bib or registration confirmation to enter without paying
• Race Start: Must begin before 6:30PM: late starters may be disqualified

Awards

• Top Overall: Male and Female
• Top Masters: Male and Female (age 40 and over)
• Top 3 in Age Groups: 10 & under, 11-12, 13-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and up
• Custom Finishers Medals: All participants receive one: special medals for those finishing before the sunset

• Timing: Timing mats and chip timing for finish results
• Live Results: Available via text and email messaging
• Directional Signs: For all turns
• No Processing Fee: For online signup

Additional Information

Race Premium sizes are guaranteed to those registered by August 31st. Overall and Age Group Awards may be claimed within 14 days following the event at The Extra Mile Fitness Co., 3400 Calumet, Valparaiso, IN 46383. After 14 days all unclaimed awards will be donated or recycled. Participants that do not pick up their race shirt on or before race day are not guaranteed a shirt.
