🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

• Event: 8th Annual Reef's Run for Hydrocephalus Awareness
• Date: Sunday, September 7th, 2025
• Location: 300 US Hwy 50, Zephyr Cove, NV at Round Hill Pines Resort
• Registration: Check-in begins at 7:30 am: Race starts at 9:00 am

🎉 Event Highlights

• Costumes: Racers are encouraged to don costumes for this Fun Run / Walk / Stroll.
• Refreshments: Enjoy coffee, water, juice, snacks before the race, and a complimentary beer for participants 21 and over after the race.
• Activities: Post-run enjoy a silent auction, raffle, and activities for kids.
• Charity Support: Net proceeds go to charitable foundations searching for a cure for hydrocephalus and supporting families in need.

💙 About Hydrocephalus

• Impact: Hydrocephalus affects more than 1,000,000 Americans, including my son Reef.
• Condition: It is the abnormal accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), causing brain ventricles to enlarge.
• Surgery History: Reef, born 9 weeks early, has undergone 6 brain surgeries before the age of 17 months.
• Current Status: Reef has been brain surgery-free for 7 1/2 years!

🌟 Our Mission

• Aim: Raise awareness for hydrocephalus which affects 1-2 in every 1,000 babies born.
• Financial Support: Help fund research for a cure, as the only treatment is brain surgery.
• Surgery Stats: 38,000 operations are performed annually, averaging one every 15 minutes.
• Hope: Help us fight for a future free from the fear of shunt malfunctions for children like Reef.
