Mighty Mile - FREE RACE FOR KIDS

The Mighty Mile is for kids only ages 5 to 14 years old.

• Location: Parkside Middle School Track, 2400 4th St., Jackson, MI
• Time: Evening race

Race Purpose

• Challenge: Encourage children to run and stay active.
• Series: Part of the Michigan Running Foundation Mighty Mile series.
• Audience: Specifically designed for elementary and middle school students.
• Goal: Get kids’ summer off to a running and healthy start!

What Participants Receive

• Items: All runners will receive a T-shirt and a backpack.
• Timing: Each child will have a chipped timed accurate mile.
• Finisher Medal: A Mighty Mile Finisher Medal is awarded upon crossing the finish line.
• Registration: Free for children ages 5 to 14 years old.

Registration Information

• Online Only: Parents must register their child prior to the race.
• No Registration: No registration will be available at the race.
• Participant Limit: Race is limited to the first 200 participants.
• Early Registration: It is encouraged to register early to secure a spot.

Race Schedule

• Race 1: 6:30pm | 5 - 7 year olds
• Race 2: 6:50pm | 8 – 9 year olds
• Race 3: 7:10pm | 10 - 11 year olds
• Race 4: 7:25pm | 12 - 14 year olds

Results Information

• Timing: The race will be electronically timed using a disposable chip.
• Availability: Results will be posted immediately after the race.
• Location of Results: Results will be available on the race website.

Awards

• No Awards: This is a non-competitive race.
• Goal: Encourage children to challenge themselves.
• Medal: All participants receive a Mighty Mile medal.

Course Information

• Location: Start and finish on the Parkside Middle School Track.
• Course: 1/4 mile on the track, then a loop on school grounds, finishing with 1/4 mile on the track.
• Support: Members of the Grow Jackson Organization will be along the course for encouragement.

Packet Pick Up

• Location: At the Parkside Middle School Track.
• Time: From 5:15 pm to 7:00 pm on race day.

Additional Information

• Hydration: Parents are encouraged to bring water for their child as there will not be water available at the race.
