5TH ANNUAL PFC JOSEPH P DWYER PTSD MEMORIAL 5K RUN

Race Purpose

• Honoring: The memory of an Iraq war hero from Mount Sinai, NY.
• Project: The Joseph P. Dwyer Veteran Peer Support Project addresses challenges of PTSD and TBI.

Event Details

• Hosted by: VFW Post 6249
• Location: Rocky Point High School.
• Terrain: Trails, hills, and track.
• Participants: Runners and walkers of all age groups welcome.

Registration

• Location: At Rocky Point High School starting at 10:00am.
• Race Start: 12:30pm.

Amenities

• Medals: Age Group Medals and refreshments afterwards.
• T-shirts: Guaranteed to the first 300 registrants.
• Walk Only: Top three men/women get awards too!

Fees

• Pre-registration: $30 (by 5/29 at 6pm).
• Day-of Registration: $35.

Course Information

• Start: Starts at Rocky Point HS.
• Route: South on Rocky Point Rd to the Rocky Point Historical sign.
• Details: Make a right at yellow pipe and follow signs to RPHS.

Benefit

• Proceeds: Benefit the Joseph Dwyer Program: PTSD Peer to Peer Network.
• Partnership: Launched in 2012 with the Suffolk County United Veterans program.
• Purpose: Confidential peer-to-peer support for veterans.
• Impact: Demonstrates the value of helping veterans transition back into civilian life.
