🎖️ Race Purpose
- Honoring: The memory of an Iraq war hero from Mount Sinai, NY.
- Support Project: The Joseph P. Dwyer Veteran Peer Support Project is designed for Veterans facing PTSD and TBI.
👟 Join Us
- Join: VFW Post 6249 for this 5K run through scenic trails, hills, and on the track.
- Compete: Medals awarded by age grouping or enjoy a stroll through the beautiful pine barrens.
- Welcoming: Runners and walkers of all age groups are welcome.
- Incentives: Medals and t-shirts will be available on race day.
📝 Registration Information
- Location: Rocky Point High School starting at 10:00 AM.
- Race Start: 12:30 PM.
🏅 Amenities
- 5K: Age group medals and refreshments provided afterwards.
- T-shirts: Guaranteed to the first 300 registrants.
- Walk Only: Top three men and women receive awards as well.
💲 Registration Fees
- Pre-registration: $30 (by 5/29 at 6 PM).
- Day-of: $35.
🗺️ Course Information
- Course Start: Begins at Rocky Point HS, traveling south on Rocky Point Rd.
- Route: To Rocky Point Historical sign on the east side of RP Rd. (about 1 mile).
- Turn: Make a right at the yellow pipe and follow signs to RPHS.
💖 Proceeds Benefiting
- Program: Proceeds benefit the Joseph Dwyer Program: PTSD Peer to Peer Network.
- Established: Launched in 2012 as a partnership between local veteran programs.
- Method: The Dwyer Project employs a confidential, peer-to-peer approach for veterans.
- Impact: Proven valuable as a tool to assist Veterans in transitioning back into civilian life.
