Event Purpose: The Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001.
Community Tribute: Honor all of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty!

Anniversary Celebration: This will be the 10th year in Jackson, MI, and all participants will be receiving a commemorative finisher coin.
🏃♂️ How far is a Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk?
Distance: This is a 5K (3.1 miles) walk or run event.
Accessibility: Anyone can run, walk, or experience this event.
🗓️ When does online registration close?
Registration Period: Online registration will remain open until the start of the event.
Packet Pickup Note: If you register after packet pick-up, you may not receive your t-shirt and any other race-day swag.
📝 Can I register on the day of the run?
Day of Registration: Yes. Registration will open at 7 am the morning of the run.
Late Fee: A $5 late registration fee applies for those who choose to register on the morning of the race for all registrants except for First Responders.
Shirt Availability: We may not have a shirt for you, and we cannot guarantee sizes for late registrants.
👕 Does my registration come with a T-shirt?
T-shirt Guarantee: If you register before May 1st, you are guaranteed a shirt.
Availability: People who register after this date are not guaranteed a shirt and will get one as supplies last.
🏅 Will there be awards for running?
Award Simplicity: Awards are based on firefighters, police, or military running in gear in the same fashion that Stephen Siller did on 9/11.
Experience Focus: This event is intended to be an experience and much more than a run.
Event Timing: The event is timed.
🔖 Do I have to wear my bib number?
Bib Requirement: Yes, please display your bib on the front of your outermost garment.
Course Policy: Those who run without a bib will be asked to leave the course and will not be allowed to finish.
🚀 I am a fast runner. Can I get a front-line position?
Seeding Rule: Runners predicting a pace faster than 6 minute/mile will be seeded in the front corral (arrive early).
🧳 What can you bring to the event?
Permitted Items: Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted. Firefighter turnout gear and military backpacks are also permitted.
Storage Policy: Please leave all personal items and valuables in your vehicle. All items should be stored securely at the owner's risk.
🚑 Is there a medical staff available on-site?
Medical Services: Yes, there will be an Emergency Medical Service team available on site.
Radio Communication: There is also radio communication available on the course to communicate with the EMS.
💧 Will water be available?
Water Stations: Yes, a water station will be available along the route and there will be water available at the start/finish line.
📦 Where can I pick up my packet?
Pickup Timing: Packet pickup will be available on race day starting at 7am.
Early Pickup: We may also hold early pickup on Friday, May 15, 2026. Location and time TBD.
👥 Can someone else pick up my packet for me?
Pickup Policy: Yes, they can. They must present a copy of your registration receipt.
Gratitude: And don't forget to thank them!
💰 As a participant, can I fundraise/encourage others to donate?
Fundraising Setup: Once you are registered, you will be given directions to start your own fundraising page, and you will be able to accept donations online.

❓ Does my registration fee count towards my fundraising goal?
No Crossover: Your registration fee does not count towards the fundraising goal.
💸 Can I still donate to a team and/or individual after the start of the race?
Post-Event Donations: Yes. Donations will be accepted for 6 weeks after the event on the race registration website.

📄 Do registrants get receipts?
Receipt Issuance: When you register online, you should automatically receive a receipt.
Payment Receipts: If paying by credit card or check, that is your receipt. If paying in cash, receipt upon request.
